This is the petition calling for a statewide ban on fracking and unconventional gas in Western Australia:

"I welcome the Western Australian Government’s pre-election commitment to a statewide moratorium (temporary ban) on fracking and unconventional gas, and the associated community consultation and inquiry that will determine whether this industry has any future in WA.  

I am committed to the protection of our water sources, food, health, livelihoods and precious places and I do not believe that gas fracking can be done anywhere in WA without compromising these values.

Therefore, I call on the inquiry and state government to implement a permanent, legislated ban on fracking and unconventional gas activities across WA and to instead focus on the development of renewable energy resources the State’s energy needs."
