Some of Australia’s most prominent voices including Paul Kelly, Jimmy Barnes, John Butler, Peter Garrett, Missy Higgins, Tim Winton, Fiona Stanley, Janet Holmes a Court, Carmen Lawrence and Peter Newman have united in a call to Premier Mark McGowan to protect the Kimberley from the controversial practice of gas fracking.

More than fifty of Australia’s top scientists and experts have delivered an open letter to the WA Government today, calling for a permanent ban on gas fracking to prevent a massive increase in carbon pollution, and to avoid dangerous climate change.

Conservation groups have called on the McGowan Government to keep its pre-election promises on fracking and to release the final report of the Fracking Inquiry, which was handed to Government yesterday.
